Help with wine

Hi, I'm using a linux distro known as jolicloud on my laptop, I have installed wine in order to run windows files, yet I tried to open an .exe for an MMORPG using it, after I click ok, wine just deletes it from the list. What can I do?

You can look at the Wine Application Database for your game. They will tell you how to get it to work, if it is possible.

So have you read the entries in the database or not? It is clearly stated that these additions are needed.

At first you need the winetricks helper-program. I don't know if you can get it from the jolicloud repositories, because I have never used jolicloud. If it is not in the repositories it is described here. You can then install the additions with the command
Code:
winetricks vcrun2008 d3dx9

I dont see any installer, all I see is giant page of script. Where would I put that code in? under libraries in wine?

Jolicloud is a based on Ubuntu, so I'm just going to assume it works similar to that. Now, if you were launching Wine in Ubuntu how would you apply these winetricks?
