Help with Samba/SWAT

Hi,

I recently installed MandrakeLinux 10.1 on my PC and got everything configured right like the Nvidia drivers (which can be a pain in the ass) and even got doom3 running at high resolution @800*600 on a GF FX5200 . But now I'm having difficulties configuring the network, since I have no idea at all where or how to start. I know you probably need Samba or SWAT Samba for that but I don't know how to do it. I have installed a SWAT RPM and I can choose "Samba Configuration (SWAT)" from System=>Configuration=>Network, but then the browser asks for a username and password and I even don't know what I should fill in there . Can anyone please tell me what to do in clear language because I don't understand a thing (yet) of all those tutorials on internet.

Thanx,

driesel

Configuring samba is a root function therefore you need to input [root] as the user name and your [root password], don't include the brackets :-)

When you installed Mandrake there comes a point where it asks you to enter a password for the root account, then it will ask you to setup additional user accounts.
