help with samba


I have Red hat enterprise edition version 5 on a test bed machine, i need to know how to install samba on it as i am a newb. i cant register with RHN either?

This is for work, i need to test this for samba, and also to see if we can get it to be redunant with an exising version of red hat linux enterprise 3 this is 5, why would you assume that fedora core would be for me, ive tried that its hard, what is the easiest linux distro to learn?

A simple LQ or Google search would get you loads of information concerning Samba.

You could look at 'Quick and dirty Samba setup'.

Since you stated it is for work and you are getting paid for the time. We're not! You could be a little better in the way you address people on the forum. You will get better responses with more courtesy.

As for a Linux distribution, I like to steer people to try a LiveCD distribution first to see what works for them.

RHEL is the commercial version and you need at least one box registered to use their repository.
Alternately, grab the Centos equiv (free ver of RHEL) and test with that.
Fedora is good for general use, but it's more bleeding edge than RHEL, so should not be used for testing something that you intend to put on RHEL in prod.
