Please help me!
Below is my problem:
I want to install Canon LBP2900 on a fedora core machine through command prompt (a terminal window).
I downloaded the driver and read the instructions.
There are 2 rpm-s to be installed with rpm -ivh:
I have an older version of CUPS.(1.1.22) and the CAPT rpm didn't start with it.
So I tried to install the new common file.
When trying to install the new one I got an error...failed dependencies:
The CAPT rpm contained more failed dependencies...
cndrvcups-common >= 1.30 (I know how to correct this )
The Canon documentation stated that I should have installed Ghostscript before trying to install this driver.
Do the above failed dependencies refer to ghostscript?
If so where can I find it 'for fedora core OS'?
If what I need is only the gtk+ package...where can I get a copy for fedora?
PS: Is there a command to tell me the fedora core version? Like ver from msdos? The linux system is a server and I don't want to restart it for now.
