Question Help with partition

I have installed Linux Slackware 10.0 from CD rom before on an old computer.
I have a new computer Asus, 4GRam 320ATA drive.
I am starting a new installation but can't create the partition.
I have tried fdisk and cfdisk but all I see is my CD rom IDE, I don't know how to redirect fdisk to the ATA drive.

Once I boot from the CD ROM, login:bare.i
login:root
I tried, fdisk, cfdisk, fdisk /dev/hda
Thanks-

Do you have a SATA hard disk?

I hope slackware 10.0 wont have sata drivers.

try with updated slackware.

I run opensuse 10.1 with sata harddisk fine.

regards,
T.Shrinivasan.
