help with .login

Hi,

I've got a FC2 machine connected w/NIS to a sever in my lab. When I open a terminal and connect to the main workstation I work from, the machine there correctly reads my .login file and executes it.

When I just open a terminal and I'm on my desktop machine it does not even though the home directory is the same because of the NIS setup.

How do I make the local machine execute .login? I'm using tcsh , I think.

I thought you always execute .bashrc in $HOME
when you login. [Someone corrects me if wrong.]
If this is so, you could add $HOME/.login to your
$HOME/.bashrc script.

I believe (again, someone corrects me) that
$HOME/.login runs when you open a new
console.
