Help with LibreOffice Draw
 

My set up is: Windows 7==>Oracle Virtual Box==>Ubuntu. I need to use LibreOffice Draw. I need a very good online manual. I need to learn how to use the package. There is this place on the web: https://help.libreoffice.org/3.3/Dra...s_and_Segments which is actually a subdirectory. On this page one can read: "1.Open the Ellipses toolbar and click one of the Circle Pie or Ellipse Pie icons" I cannot see the Ellipses toolbar and I cannot find the icon they showed. I need some help. Thanks, - AlexBB

I just found an ellipse on a toolbar on the lower margin of the page but it is not an ellipse toolbar. Also, I don't understand how to move it to the drawing. It does not seem to want to go anywhere. Thanks.

why not just use the MS windows version on Windows7

and WHY are you using the VERY VERY OLD libreoffice 3.3 ?????

the current is libreoffice 4.2.1

John_W hi. Indeed my version is LibreOffice 3.5.7.2 which I installed with Ubuntu about 6 weeks ago. This version was a part of the package. It came as a surprise to me that there is a Windows version. Anyhow I still do not have an answer to my question about the documentation for LibreOffice. I doubt a newer version will change the documentation significantly. Thanks, - ALexBB

to place an ellipse on a "blank" paper
--- for the current Libreoffice 4.2.1 ----

click( l-click) on the "ellipse" icon in the bottom left of the window
then click and drag on the paper to place and change the size

there are a ton of guides you can find with Google
for the old libreoffice3 it is 99.999999999999% identical as Openoffice3
libreoffice4 is only 99% identical to what will be openoffice4

but for now the older libreoffice3 is the same as openoffice3

Have you looked at the LibreOffice Help? There's also a PDF and here's a series of tutorials.
