Hello, Im new in linux, yesterday I installed cairo 1.6.4,pixman 0.10.0, freetype 2.1.10 and fontconfig 2.4.0 all this in order to run azureus. Everything was ok, but when I login again first a messga that says kdeinit couldnt start and also when i enter time in a shell this message appears bash: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
Unmatched `.

I dont know which one of this installed software is causing this trouble

You need to state your Linux distribution.

How did you install them?

You should follow your package manager ... unless you understand the consequences. In Ubuntu and other *buntus, you must use apt-get or synaptic or adept manager for installing new software/upgrades/updates.

addendum: cairo is a vector graphics library.
pixman is for manipulating displayed objects roughly.
freetype is a font rasterization engine. ..this is responsible.

for all of them, I downloaded them from their web pages and

./configure
make
make install
