Help With Install Error 1 and Error 2


When ever I use the make command (for almost anything), Its gives my a small log teling my it cant find this or that Function, and at the end I have an error 1 and error 2. Help?

Yes I am root.

Mepis; KDE 3.2? Kernel 2.6.7

Please post the exact text of the error message and a couple of lines above it. It will help us debug the issue.

sounds like you do not have the glibc sources installed. i know nothing about mepis though, so couldn't say what you need to install to get them. just to be sure they're not there, try a "locate stdio.h", "locate string.h" etc...

You have to install libc6-dev
Check also if you have installed libncurses5-dev for building a new kernel

dead on. I just restored my Slackware box from a backup and some symlinks were'nt correct. I reinstalled the libc6-dev via swaret and all is up and running like a charm.
