Help with GCC 3.1 Install


Can somebody help me with the install of GCC 3.1?

The instructions on GCC.GNU.ORG read like greek to me, as I am new to Linux. The instructions assume alot of terminal knowledge.

I already have it unzipped, and I know how to do the normal ./configure, make, make install game.... but the instructions on the web page make it seem like there is more to it than that.

we try not to delete anything so that problems (and hopefully thier solutions) are archived for anyone else having the same problem. if you run into other problems like this that you manage to solve yourself, it's helpful to others if you can explain how you fixed whatever it was that was broken...
