Help with DIND and redhat-config-bind

I have RH 9.0 and i'd like to run a webserver with mulitple domains/sub-domains and mailserver among other things.

So I figure I a DNS server.. so i'd like to know what are Reverse Master Zones, Forward MAster Zones and Slave Zone..and what do I need to set up a caching dns servers so that I can provide DNS to my LAN and how do I setup the dns to do what I want.

I started reading a bind tutorial, but it dealth strictly with editing the text files and I wasn't sure exactly what i wanted so that i'd know what to focus on.

Thanks Alot

Thank you

Editing the text files is not big deal, just make sure you back them up in case you want to go back. I would recommend getting a book on it, DNS and BIND from O'Riely is pretty good, although lacking in examples. I'm currently stuck myself, but that is a different issue.

Ultimatley you won't screw up your system by editing BIND config files so dig in and have fun!
