Help with adjusting what happens during Fedora boot up
Hi Guys,
I have installed Fedora 6 for the very first time. I am normally an Ubuntu user and I am finding Fedora 6 is taking me a little getting used to. At the moment, during boot up, the computer attempts to negotiate DHCP through a wireless NIC on eth1. How can I adjust the boot process so that Fedora does not waste time trying to negotiate DHCP for the wireless NIC on eth1? Thanks in advance. Greenie |
You could remove the interface through the gui network configuration, or descend into /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and edit ifcfg-eth1 and add ONBOOT=no and maybe BOOTPROTO=static.
Hope that works, its been awhile since I messed with Fedora. |
Thanks lord-fu,
Both of those solutions work. |
