Talking Help with a signal 11

Since Im still a newbie,at Linux Im hoping Im posting in the right spot.First question I have is this.Does the Linux Suse system have a way similar to what windows has to temporarily clear the harddrive when it starts getting full? And if so where in the system would i find it? My second question is What is a signal 11 & why do i keep recieving it causing my page that is up to crash out? When i run the report it says no debugging device found.Im very confused.Do i have a bug in my system,or is this some other problem? And what is a debugging device? And is it already installed in Suse Linux>
Thank you for any help you can give me I sure appreciate it.
Debbie

what do you mean by temporarily clearing the hard drive? Linux systems don't really get fragmented, per se. So I don't really know what you mean. As for your page, you mean webpage? look in the apache logs to see what is going on. They should be somewhere in /var/log

signal 11

What do you mean temporarily clear HD? As mentioned before, linux stores files differently

Assuming you mean KDE desktop crash? Look for an something like gdb6.6.3-2 in your software installer or on your installation CDs. It is a debugging tool and although difficult to read may provide some clue to someone more experienced about what is going on. Also, google your exact error message and you may find a lead.

good luck

RE:Signal 11

My oldest son has windows & he is able to temporarily clear out his harddrive.I was curious if linux had the same compatibility & where i would go to go it.
The problem was everytime i was bringing up my yahoo site as soon as i would try to gain access to my mail it would disappear from the screen & up would come a signal 11 with a picture of a bomb on it.Today my yahoo is fine so im not sure what was going on.
Thanks for all of your help.

Crashhandler and clearing cache

Since you are speaking about using Yahoo and "clearing' the hard drive. I can only assume you mean clear all the temp files collected in your cache. Yes that can be done. You must look for a setting which generally allows you to clear the history, location bar, and cache, and also configure a proxy setting.

Also, since you are surfing the net AND having crashes with KDE, I am going to go out on a limb and ask if you are using Konqueror as your web browser. Is this correct? If you are, this may be your problem. Although Konq IS a web browser, I believe its configuration is important to keep it from crashing. Use Mozilla-firefox. Your distro should have it on the disks.
good luck

Go to Control Center > Security & Privacy > Privacy, there you can erase some stuff.
