help with 3D desktop using compiz(cube).


I have an acer aspire 4730z laptop running ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I have never been able to use 3D desktop using compiz(cube). I know this is not much info but im not in front of my machine at the moment. any help getting started would be appreciated

You need 3D acceleration with an radeon, nvidia, or intel GPU. Check the output of 'glxinfo' to make sure the output is correct and doesn't mention 'software' in the renderer string. If you're unsure of what you're doing, show us the full output of glxinfo and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file.

For some reason you have the nvidia drivers installed even though you are using an intel GPU. Remove the nvidia drivers, restart X, and try again.

And please use [code][/code] tags when you paste log files in the future.
