Help: Which Linux program do you suggest for a Toshiba satellite c855d.

My new device is extremely slow. I believe it is the below in bold.

Processor: AMD E-300 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.3 3.3

Is there anything that can be done? I have windows 8 and I am thinking about buying a linux cd. Which one is compatible with the specs of my device and will hopefully speed things up a bit? I was thinking mint but I don't know.

Your hardware should be able to handle just about any Linux distribution made. Download a few Live CD's and see what you think.

It's less a question of your hardware and more a question of what you want your OS to look like and act like.
