Try reading my sticky thread in Linux - General regarding how to install programs in Linux, etc. This has been asked many times before with lots of good information out there.

I'm not trying to tell you to just RTFM, but I just trying to keep from members repeating themselves when the info is already out there.

Post back if you don't understand or have specific problem installing files, etc.

gz is gzip.most probably,the archive will contain source codes which you will have to complie.unzip it.(use gunzip).then read README and INSTALL.

{useless point}
give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he never goes hungry again. What I'm saying is that it's alot better to look and learn than to just have it handed to you.
{/useless point}

I'm probably going to get in trouble for this post and my apologies to those that find this too harsh.
