how the hell do you turn off the penguins game???????

there is, it's called "ps aux". open a terminal, type in ps aux and you can see all the processes running on your computer; hopefully you can recognise the penguins. it has a process number (ps id). now type "kill 12345" or whatever the number is. you might need to do "sudo kill 12345" if you are not the owner of the process in question. if you haven't used sudo before you will have to become root and edit the /etc/sudoers file so that you too are a sudoer...

There is. Sort of

Go into a root term and type in ps -A. It will list all the stuff that is running. If it goes off the screen type this: ps -A | less . Then use the space bar for another screen. When done hit 'q' for quit.

If you want to kill a prog type in killall <prog name>. It will die.

If you want a GUI version use something like KDE system guard. highlight the app and click 'kill'.

Rats, I was beat by gill1109. I need to learn to type faster.
