Help! System Administration! Help Please!
I have just installed Fedora Core 4. I chose not to create another User, and it warned me that i could then only access the Administrator account. I then got to the log in screen and thought, right ok, log in with the Administrator account and use the Root Password as it told me too. However what's the user name?! How can i log into this??
Anybody got any ideas? Please Help! |
admin account
What admin account are you using?
It should be "root" |
this is the second fedora question I have answered today.....never ran fedora, but I would try
root as the login name and roots password for the password...... sorry if I am way off base here.. good luck..... once logged in DEFINATELY create a user account and use roots account sparingly....very very sparingly. |
administrator = root
I found when a 'newbie' that 'Running Linux' published by O'Reilly wasw invaluable. |
ctrl+alt+f1
login: root password: <root password> #>useradd username #>passwd username newpassword newpassword #>mkdir /home/username #>chown username:users /home/username ctrl+alt+f6 login as username, DO NOT RUN AS ROOT. |
FOLKS, no need to continue answering! The username is needed was "root"
