Help!!! SSH Question
Please a am the newest of the newbies.
I am running RedHat Linux 7.2 on my server - SSH is located in /user/bin/ I have root access to the server for SSH but not for FTP How do I transfer files from my windowXP PC to the server via SSH. I downloaded putty and am able to connect with the server, but I don't know how to transfer files. I am sure there are simple ABC's. but most of the FAQ pages I have found assume you have knowlege of SSH already!! Please help with a few directions on the basics - which client to use and how to transfer. Thanks in advance, |
download "pscp" or "psftp" from where you got putty
psftp is just like ftp but via ssh |
Read man ssh. I'm not sure if putty can handle this, but i usually use scp in a ssh session to copy files from machine to machine.

I have tried to download pscp, but for some odd reason it will load on my PC. Firewall maybe? |
