Help! Run into trouble installing debian
Hi,
I was trying to install debian on my machine using a debian net install image downloaded from their site. Halfway through the process, my computer rebooted for no apparent reason. Now, instead of going to the bootloader that asks if I want to go to windows or the debian installer, it loads a grub console. INFO: I was installing debian on my second hard drive, so my windows HDD should be untouched. Console says "GNU GRUB version 0.95 (639K lower/ 1047488K upper memory) [ Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first work, TAB lists possible command completetions. Anywhere else TAV lists the possible completetions of a device/filename.] grub>" if it helps, the command root gives "grub> root (hd1,0): Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83" Please help, as I cannot do anything with the computer at the moment Thanks |
I would suggest to restart the installation, since it did not finish.

If nothing else works, use netbootcd-3.0 or Billix-0.24 to net-install, as I have had 0 problems with both installing Lenny.
