Smile Help Reading System Output

Hey All,

I am currently doing some testing for a project to get the response time after issuing a time curl -I http://server's ip | HTTP .

The first system (ClearOS) I ran the test on I got three values: real, user and system and for my project I'm interested in the real value in seconds.

I ran the same command on another system (Untangled) and I am getting 0.00s user 0.01s system 2% cpu 0.374 total. Does anyone know if any value represents the "real" value or if there is another way to calculate or retrieve the real value?

Thanking you in advance,
Jali

Read the "note:" in the manpage for "time".

I had to switch to exec bash and run the same command, the shell was in zsh.
