Help printing to a Win 98 shared printer

Well, I have my Win98 PC setup with a Lexmark Z22 printer. This printer is supported by Mandrake 10.0. My Linux PC (Mandarke 10.0) is networked with the Win 98 PC. The printer is setup through Samba and CUPS. My network seems OK since I can browse either PC from the other. Whenever I try to print to the Win98 printer from Linux, it prints garbage. I am using the recommended .ppd driver form linuxprinting.org. Now I don't mind doing a little homework but I've been playing around with the settings for a week and can't seem to get anything to print legibly from Linux. There are too many options about post scripting and raw mode. Suffice it to say, I am lost.
Could someone provide some simple guidelines for getting this printer to work.

Hello,

I first recommend you to test the printing with the printer direct connected to the Linux-box.

After,
- If you are not able to print correctly with direct connection, you have a problem.
- If it works, you have the choice to share the printer with SAMBA (connected on the Linux-box).
