Have Logitec WEBCAM c270 work on Vsee The Webcam streams through VLC which suggests I dont need drivers for it? But I know Linux when Vsee is run it does not support the camera?? I help people with mental health issues and use this for my work. Does any one do like remote support and could fix my laptop. Trusting I know but desperate Thanks Darryn |

Welcome to the forum :) First, what distribution and version of Linux are you using? From what I see here, it doesn't look like Vsee will be an option for you on Linux. You will need to use a native Linux or cross platform program for this. As a substitute, you could also try Ekiga, OpenMeetings, Jitsi or Google chat. if you are using Debian or Ubuntu (or any of its derivitives,) one or more of these might be available in the repositories (by using a package manager like Synaptic.) Or if VLC works, you can use it. :) Quote:

Hi: & Welcome to Linux Questions!
You could install "Cheese" on your laptop. It's an open source app that would allow you to access your webcam. Cheese works under the Gnome desktop environment. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Cheese I have Cheese installed on my laptop that's running CentOS and it works well. http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Multi...se-28762.shtml https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Webcam |
If Cheese doesn't work, try gucview. Webcams that don't work with Cheese frequently work with guvcview.
