You need a boot loader like LILO or GRUB.

I would recommend Lilo as its easier to install and or use. You can get it from here: http://freshmeat.net/releases/102209/

You should only need this one.. http://home.san.rr.com/johninsd/pub/...-22.3.4.tar.gz

All those others you won't need.

If you unzipped it, look into the directory it created probably something along the lines of lilo-22.3.4 and you should find a INSTALL and README file. You'll want to read those and find instructions on installing it from there.

Do you have a lilo-22.3.4 directory or something similiar after extracting the tar.gz file ?? If so what files do you have listed in there after cd into the directory ?
