HELP PLEASE! =] bootable CD
hey,
Thanks 4 looking. Urrm, ive downloaded Ubuntu to my desktop and its an Unknown file (is it meant to be?). & i've used the InfraRecorder software and put it on the CD (as an Image thingy...) and i cant work out why it won't let me boot from the CD. I've set it so that the CD Drive boots first in the BIOS and it still does nothing. Could you please help meee! :D Thanks again! JG. |
Did you check the md5sum? Your download might have been corrupted. There are md5sum utilities for windows. They calculate a number (the md5sum) that you can compare with the md5sum that is on the page from where you downloaded Ubuntu.
If you have another PC, try the CD in there. If that works, your CD is fine. If you have a windows install disk, try that one in your PC; if it boots, your boot sequence is fine. |
