Help on PXE and TFTP Protocols.

Hi Frieds
Our company use's SUSE ENTERPRISE Server. We are testing a branch delivery system on a simulated envirunment. We have some TC(thin client) so they acts like a consol only. I want to know when we power on our systems whats happen? Where is our hard disk and/or OS image's. How it work? How our terminals and users specifies and gave name? From which place? I like to see this subject on image's or slide shows. Can any body help me.
Special thanks.

Oh I forget.
In my terminal when I type "cd /boot" I give back "No such file or dirctory" message.

When you post a new post instead of using the edit feature we think someone has answered your original post.

Your question can't be answered really. You should ask your companies site admin for how it works.

Some TC's don't download any OS some do. Some run the OS over something like AoL or iSCSI. Once booted you don't know where the display is from. May have something like remote desktop to some server.

Not even sure where to start to tell you how to learn. Basic is PXE. I guess you could get a knoppix cd and start knoppix terminal server and boot a client. Then use it as an example of a common pxe boot.

There's some Suse Admin books/manuals here http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_boo...ion_index.html if you want to read up on eg PXE, tftp.
