i am a newbie. am planning to authenticating linux clients on a linux server, in the same way as windows clients are authenticated on a win server. can someone plz help me?
please tell me step by step. do i use yp?

thanks for the tip. i have used samba. it is really good and works well. but i wanted to authenticate clients when they login on the cui screen. am basically planning to use NIS. can u help me on that?
correct me if im wrong, becuae i have only been using linux for a few weeks now but when you log in on your clients arent you authenticating them at the same time?
