Kill linpus, that outdated and mutilated fedora clone is not worth it. My aspire one also came with it, I trashed it and installed Fedora 10 instead. Much better. It also supports the wireless card and camera out of the box, no blinking wifi light, and the switch will not work though, but who needs it. Fedora is great on this thing, and it picked a great resolution, but you might want to shrink the fonts just a little. Hope this helped, Ben.

Ten tweaks for a new Acer Aspire One
aspire one forum; has some howto's

I did enjoy using Linpus but eventually installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04. Reason was that I did not see an expected security update come along.

hey guys thanks so much t=for helping me out with your replies, it's been 2 days since i downloaded a variety of O.S for linux, EasyPeasy, Fedora 11, Ubuntu, Linux Mint and something else (forgot the name)... i really liked the originality of the EasyPeasy interface and it's really easy to use, but not having an actual desktop.. it kinda got me lost from the typical feeling of actually having one. Ubuntu, well yeah amazing and does it's job very well but i didn't click alot with it. Fedora, well yeah.. again, its another O.S that does it's job nicely, but takes quite some space on my netbook apparently, somehow it took ages to load/log and to open applications. SO... I'M STICKING TO LINUX MINT, at least just for now the interface is pretty much my style, works fast, the only linux O.S which i managed to set up the compiz without any hussles, and also im a mint/menthol addict.. so LINUX MINT does live up to my expectations =)

one thing i noticed on every O.S, somehow the mozilla firefox HELP screen keeps coming on, sometimes even in an ammount of 20 windows at once

You actually tried full blown distributions meant for desktops and laptops. But there are distos for netbooks as well. EasyPeasy, ubuntu netbook remix, crunch bang etc..
It is easy to set up compiz in Ubuntu. Just install Compiz, Compiz-gnome, compiz config settings manager. Thats it. You have got the option in System > Preferences.
Configure it to your liking.
