Help Needed
 

Iam in a big trouble, there is a firewall named Winroute firewall by Kerio placed in my network by network manager to limit download and browsing.

I have discovered that port 21(ftp),25 are open, is there any way by which i can access i can redirect all the traffic to port 21 to some server outside my network and view the website or anything like that, actually i want any way to bypass this firewall..

Please help...

It's not a good idea to bypass the firewall.

I dont think there is much anyone can help you here with your issue. You are dealing with legal IT policies. I think the life of this thread is going to be short.
PS: Read the LQ rules before posting. You are not going to get help for anything that is illegal.

It is possibly against policy of whatever network the OP is using, but not illegal.

ya i knw tht, but the network manager is one of my frnd nd he has challenged me if i could bypass this, nd now i need your help. Till now i have found that firewall is not operational on port 21 and 25, so need any way by which i can use any of these ports for browser requests...

For web stuff you can set up a machine outside the firewall (eg your home machine) as an http proxy operating on port 21, then in your browser specify that host and port as your http proxy. That's just a flavour of the sort of thing you could do, the possibilities are almost endless. You can also look into ssh tunneling, again utilizing a machine on an external network that you have control over.

hey guys its ok, nw i have explained the situation, so plz stop fighting..

And i do have 4-5 Linux systems outside the firewall, please do let me know what all i can do(other than setting up proxy server). Moreover please explain the concept of ssh tunneling in detail,please make note that port 22 is not open...
Please do reply as soon as possible. And is there any way by which i can use utorrent also..

Another hint: you don't have to run your ssh server on port 22.

There are is a huge amount of information on ssh tunneling on the web: try google, and you may even find one of my posts on the topic. Please post again if you get stuck and have a specific question.

Hold on now. That's not the way things work around here. Nobody's paying us to be your tech support, so we aren't obliged to give you any help at all, much less a complete solution. Not to mention that what your asking for falls at the very least into an ethical grey area.

Hints and guidance are as much as you can reasonably expect to get. It's your responsibility to do the major legwork yourself.

You've been given some places to start looking, so get on Google and do some research. Then perhaps when you have specific questions or problems you might get more detailed help working through them.

Just like David the H. mentioned, don't expect us to do your work. Follow the hints that you're given, Google and take it from there. We're all volunteers here and if you want a ready maid solution then I suggest you to get paid support.

You're expecting us to help you solve a problem because your friend who's the network manager challenged you? And you're doing that on the company's network? Let's just hope your boss isn't a member of LQ. If it were me, you'd be both out of a job instantly.
