Smile Help my BT5 R3 !!!!

Hello Guys,
Wicd in Backtrack 5 R3 didn't show me any wireless connections. But I received an internet connection. Although it didn't show, there's 3 networks via TP-link adapter .
I run BT 5 R3 from VM.
So tell me something how to solve it.

(airmon-ng show NO " interface chipset driver ")
Thanks.

Hm, I'm not sure how the vm image works, as I've always prefered to install BT directly to a HDD. Anyway, what do you get, if you use the command line to scan for networks?

Code:
# iwlist wlan0 scan

hell of a lot easier to use a usb wireless device with a vm

however, you can try this, assuming you are using VirtualBox
in network devices choose bridge and bridge to your wireless net device
also set promiscuous mode

I don't know if that will work

one way is to install a current and supported operating system ( kali is the current)
BT5 is basically dead
it is based on the old ubuntu10.04
there are NO updates to it
a dist upgrade to using 12.10 will kill most of the bt tools

so the best way to "fix this" is to use a OS that is still in support and not dead
