Help..megasr message on RHEL 4 when shutting down...

Hi,

New to Linux and have just installed RHEL 4(no virtualization) on an Intel S5000vxn board with RAID 5 using the Intel Embedded RAID II

The system boots up fine however at times, when it shuts down, I get the message

"megasr(achi): Interface non-fatal error status interrupt received ignoring, port=1,pxIS=0x4000000"

that keeps repeating on the screen. Instead of shutting down/powering off automatically, I have to press the on/off or reset button.

However, once I press the reset button (without powering off), the system then can't find the raid array. I have to power off the system, and when it boots up, it will find the array again.

Any ideas?..driver issues or it is a hardware issue?

thanks
Simon

Could be a combination of both. I'd make sure your raid array firmware is up to date, and also check to see if there's an updated driver for it.
