Obviously you need a space between the sudo and the ./install.sh. You also shouldn't need sudo to change permissions on a file, if you own it.

If you want to start compiling everything, then use Gentoo.
Just about everything on that release is complied.
cheers

So what i have done here is that i have installed opera without using any packages and i can install opera like this on any other distro as well even if it doesn't have package manager or any package management at all, right? Why do we need package management anyway?

one word.. dependencies
you probably havnt been using linux long enough to have experienced dpendency hell
that is to say
program a requires library b to be installed before it can be installed
you try to install library b and find.. oh my
library b requires libraries c d and e to be installed before they can be installed
then oh dear library c requires library e f and g to be installed.. and so on

package managers like apt have repositories of programs and can automatically resolve dependencies and automatically install them as necessary instead of finding out oh dear.. gotta download this.. download it and find out oh.. gotta download this this and this. etc..

the .sh program is what is refered to as a 'shell script', you could run it from konqueor if you tick the 'run in terminal' box
however it is easier to run it from the prompt directly because anything that installs globally requires root priveleges to do so which is why you type 'sudo' something, sudo runs that task as root

what is the difference between between rpm and deb packages? Why can't there be just 1 package system?

rpm is a redhat package for redhat based systems
.deb is for debian based systems
the package manager for redhat based systems would be yum for debian based systems, apt-get
even if there was one unified package style you would still need a package specific for your distribution and your version of that distribution.. it goes back to dependencies and what version of libraries each distribution has vs another..
for instance ubuntu 8 has squid2.7 whereas fedora 10 has squid 3 etc..
