Help me to install fedora 8 in hp compaq dc7800p
I tried to install fedora 8 (both 32 and 64 bit)in my PC (HP compaq dc7800p), the install done successfully. But the system boots whit out Graphics User Interface. I had install desktop
environment(both GNUME and KDE)when I installed the system. Please help me. a_gaama2006@yahoo.com |

Fedora 8 is old, get Fedora 10 or the latest Kubuntu or some other distro. Before that log in to terminal as root #lspci > abc.txt #lspci post output here |
fedora 8 hit it's End of Life in January .It will NEVER have any more updates ever . install fedora 10

If your system starts without a graphic interface, then you have somehow turned off the graphical login during installation, I guess. Even so, you can start a graphical user interface, if you have X, Gnome and KDE installed.
You need to login on the login shell by typing your username, and then also your password. When logged in, run: startx That's it, unless you have some other issues, not mentioned in your posting. Linux Archive |
