As root, edit the file /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources and type the lines at the end of the file.
Switch to a console
Hit [alt+f1] to get to a text login
log in as root
Enter root as user name, hit enter and enter your administrator (root) password (enter again).
This is what people mean, when they tell you to "become root".
Case you are interested: You can stay in your graphical session and open a terminal. In KDE you would do that this way: [alt+f2]konsole[enter]. (In Gnome you need to find something like it in the menu, because I dont know, what they call it. sorry. the rest is identical.) This will open a nice window with the same features as the terminal. To become root, you need to issue the command su - instead of logging in the normal way. This is probably a better way, but I find it more difficult to explain.
Open the file
Type nano -w /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources
Add the lines
Use your arrow keys to get to the end of the file and add the lines as they were supplied:
save and close the file
Hit [ctrl+x], tell the program you want to say by hitting [y]
run the listed commands
Apt will complain, if you feed it sources it doesnt know. You need to tell it, that there is no need to worry. For this reason, you need to run these commands:
enter exit to close your session. Hit [alt+f7] to get back to your graphical session.
By the way, you can easily add more sources by adding lines like that at the same place.
I hope I was able to help you,
