help me plz.... oracle installation on centos 5.3
i have a centos 5.3 server, which is remote based.
i am new to this linux platform...trying to install oracle 11g database on it. as i log on with user oracle and started installing, its stops and displays this msg... Checking Temp space: must be greater than 80 MB. Actual 1720 MB Passed Checking swap space: must be greater than 150 MB. Actual 2047 MB Passed X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors >>> Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set. Failed <<<< Some requirement checks failed. You must fulfill these requirements before continuing with the installation,at which time they will be rechecked. Continue? Regardless, are you running this on a workstation, or are you trying to install on the system console? if you're on the system console, what desktop environment are you using? If you're on a workstation, you need X windows software. For Linux, you'll need to start the Xserver without the "--nolisten" option. For Windows, you'll need X emulation software loaded. But you don't say anything about it, so it's hard to give specific advice. Lastly....you can install Oracle using a text-based installer. See your documentation, or contact Oracle. |
