You are going to have a very difficult time trying to find a distribution of Linux that is small enough to run on that hardware, especially trying to get something that you can install from floppy disks.
You could try these instructions to see if you can get DSL to work using only floppies. |
What happens when you boot from either of those? Do you get the command line or can you not even boot at all?
After Googling I found these... http://www.linuxlinks.com/Distributi...Distributions/ http://alicious.com/2000/slackware-l...hinkpad-755cx/ http://www.angelfire.com/nt/sucks/ http://www.adamcon.org/~dmwick/thinkpad/ Hopefully they turn out to be helpful. |
The easiest thing to do is to put the HD in a removable USB box or into a different laptop and install/configure Linux there.
If your laptop has an ethernet adapter, you may have some luck with the Debian netinstall images for floppy: http://www.debian.org/distrib/netinst |
