Help Me Out.. Pblm With Grub


i have compiled and installed linux kernel 2.4.21

these are the errors i get

ds no socket drivers loaded
VFS : Cannot open root device "LABEL=/"
please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel Panic : VFS : Unable to mount root fs on 00:00

this is how my grub.conf looks

ok wot does LABEL mean

i tried out the same way u have pointed out still the same error pops up

It's the way that some people use to reference
file-systems, by ext2/3 labels rather than physical
devices. To set one of those you need to use
e2label - 'man e2label' for details.
