help me new member linux


I want to show all the subdirectories of a directory but no file is displayed , I can use the ls command so loaded

Hi. I'm not sure what you're asking.

If you want to display directories only:

Code:
ls -d */
The above command will list directories in the current directory.

If your problem is that you can't see anything try:

Code:
ls -al
This will show hidden files/directories

I'm not sure of what you ask either, but may be a hint:

Code:
$ find . -type d -mindepth 1 -maxdepth 1
Where '.' is the current directory (or the root directory of your search).
So before that you should:

$ cd /to/your/dir
or

Code:
$ find /to/your/dir -type...
