Help Me can't get linux from dvd onto PS3

Downloaded a linux a few times different ones i have bootloaders on flash installs installer to kboot when dvd is inserted displays no partition found and no fileset found seen a demo with it being downloaded direct from dvd without flash so which way is best and what title do i need to look for for the ydl download

If you don't mind Ubuntu the info here should help you. I've only gotten my PS3 in the last couple of days so I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Thanks for the advice i'll try it thought it was going to be straight forward seen others do it with no problems but maybe they bought thier ydl rather than download it off the mirrors trouble is s many different sizes all downloaded are around 3.32 GB but maybe they're corrupt but can you advise me i've heard that ydl is the best os to use is this correct if so i'll buy it or even the 6.0v if that's the latest

There are 2 other people where I work who both went with Ubuntu (I think it's a modified Xubuntu) and are happy with it. Yellow Dog should work, but the best distro is whatever works for you.
