help making linux partition
okay, i found a linux distro called damn small linux, that runs good on my pc, but i would like to install it to my hard drive now. i have windows 2000 installed on it, but it does not boot. people are saying use cfdisk, but i cant find a place to download it. is there an easy way to make a partition? i would just use the live-cd, but it crashed after being up for some time. so is there any way to format and make the partition with out having any os on it?

you can boot any live linux cd and use cfdisk from there to partition your disk...

win32sux; take a look at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Installation/Partition/index.html it is very explicite and defined. should help guide you through. those two references
are separate from each other so don,t run together. thank you. |
thanks penguin4, if you meant for that to be for me. i found it on that page and created the partition, and its installing now.
