Okay, this is probably the most 'newbie' of newbie questions, but I'm going crazy. And I'm almost embarassed to ask the question.

I have SuSE Linux 9.3. After installing it, I played around with it and launched a little app called "AMOR", which puts a (formerly) cute animated smiley face on your desktop, which moves around and does (formerly) comical stuff.

How the heck to I get rid of it? It comes up when I reboot. It comes up whether I click on it again (I thought another click might turn it off). I can't figure out whether it has a process ID I can kill.

Somehow it gets loaded at startup - and I can't figure out the file that runs at Startup to remove the reference.

HELP!

I don't know the program, but have you tried right-clicking on it and seeing if it has a quit option?

I've just found out its name stands for Amusing Misuse Of Resources - appropriate, and annoying.

You will have to catch it then right click with your mouse as eddiebaby1023 suggests

Novell has the same problem.
One day a Novell software engineer clicked on Amor in the start menu.
The entire department found it amusing. At first.
But then they encountered the same problem as n4ogl. How to stop it.
To make matters worse it was running on a key development box.
What an embarrassing situation. If it could not be shut down every copy of the next release would have Amor running by default.
After 10 strategy meetings and 2 teleconferences it was decided the best thing to do would be to drop support for KDE.
And now you know the rest of the story...

Thanks, folks. I was able to catch it with a right click eventually, and it does have a 'quit' option.

I am also taking it out of the menu!!
