Unhappy Help Installing Steam on Ubuntu

OK, I found a tutorial for installing Steam on Ubuntu with wine, I have wine and everything, but I ran into a few problems.

1. I talks about the seam installer as a .exe, but when I downloaded it from steam I got a .msi file

2. It says to run the Steam installer and then save it into the wine directory, but how do I run the installer in Linux?

The tutorial is here, please help.
