Lightbulb Help installing Printer Driver


I need some help I trying to install a Printer driver.I downloaded the driver from lexmark. I extracked it to home/knoppix/temp(this is a HD install)and in the read me it says to type ; sh lexmarkz25-z35.gz.sh and that is it. when I do it says no file or directory.thanks david

well there is only three things that i can think of ...
1) your not in the directory where the file is located
2) you typed the filename incorrectly
3) the file doesn't have executable permissions set .
chmod +x filename, and then try to run it again.
(if this is the problem)

ok well the computer doesn't lie ...
show us the output of :
Code:
ls -l
while in the directory that you think the file is located ..
and we'll see the answers to all three questions ...
cause the -l will show us the permissions so we'll see if it does in fact have executable rights ..
and we'll also see if it is actually in that folder ..
and finally we'll see the exact filename ...

well since you say you have a z35, and there is z35 within the first filename i am assuming you downloaded a different file ...
so your going to have to untar the file:
CJLZ35LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.gz
and see whats in side that bad boy
and remember case sensitivity

O.K. thanks,I created a new directory downloads and extracted it there,now 3 files copy,readme,and z35cups-1.0-1.tar.gz.sh the readme says In general to intall run the following comand;sh z35cups-1.0-1.tar.sh I tried that and it said no such file or directory.I created the new directory because it wouldn't let me extract to itself,thanks david
