Unhappy Help! installing linux on Toshiba Laptop- couldn't find live image configuration file

I am trying to install KDE4 from a live cd onto my Toshiba Satellite A105 S4024. The laptop's cd drive is broken and so I am using an external cd drive to install.I pressed the esc key to see the progress and in the black screen it would say 'couldn't find live image configuration file' and on the next line 'reboot in 120 seconds' after it reboots it does the same thing.

'KDE4' is a Desktop environment.

Which distribution do you have for installation?

I'm using opensuse 11.1. I hope that answers that right, I'm mostly new to linux.
