Help Installing FC6

Hi Everyone,
I installed FC6 and everything seemed to go smooth. But at the initial boot, when X tries to start, my monitor sits there and says "input not supported". What's going on? Can I configure X during the installation? If I can't, can I fix this and then get back to the first boot configuration?
Thanks.
-Jesse

looks like you need a proparatry graphics card driver.
if you have a Nvidia card you can download teh driver here http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

just choose the correct one for your processor ( probabbly IA32 )

when you get to the grub spash screen press any key to show the menu then folow the instructiosn to edit the comand adding a 3 to the end.

log on as root in the command line. then run the file you downloded. this shoudl fix the problem

(you can download it form teh command line as
Code:
wget http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-9755/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run
yes i know thats one long command

if you ate using an ATI card the procedure is teh same but you need the ATI driver form their website

Do you have additional graphic card. Then make sure you are not using onboard graphic card.
As by default it sets to onboard one. Goto BIOS and check it out.
All the best...

Thanks for the replies, but I figured out what is wrong. X installed with a default configuration of 24-bits, and my monitor doesn't support 24, only 16 and 32. Not being able to run system-config-display or Xorg made it pretty hard to fix the problem...at least for me anyway, haha.

I do have an ATI card, the radeon X1650, but ati doesn't have a linux driver for me card yet. They have 1600 and 1700, but no 1650, and I'm too scared to try the 1600 driver and ruin everything

I'm also running 64-bit architecture, to I'm guessing it would be pretty hard to find a third-party driver as well.

Thanks for the replies though.
