HELP! in installing new softwares n plugins on CentOS 5.4
 
I've used ubuntu n have quite good experience in installing softwares and codecs for Totem n amarock. Its very easy on ubuntu cuz system searches online and finds plugins itself.

Now im using CentOS n i updated the system but still i dont see many softwares on repositories unlike in ubuntu moreover i dont know how to install totem codecs and others. I can't even get terminal commands for getting codecs online.

You may need to add/enable more repo's... CentOS Plus/EPEL/RPM Fusion etc

Have a look here this may help you
Try installing yumex
yum install yumex
This is similar to Synaptic manager in ubuntu.
