I'm installing Linux Redhat 8 on my computer.
My computer spec:
- intel board Intel DG945GCPE

- LG CD-rom

I can boot the instalation to kernel. but when I press enter, it ask device type (its show SCSI) and which driver i should use. I try all of the list, but none of it working. I also try to type linux hda=cdrom, but it cause kernel panic.

Hi.
In the new kernel there is no more hda hdb hdc, etc... There is only sda, sdb, sdc, etc... now, even for IDE devices. There should be no problem using the sdx nomenclature for IDE devices. The sdx doesn't mean any more that a device is scsi.

And please remember, ALL CD-ROM devices in all machines are viewed as SCSI devices! The hardware industry done that years ago..
