Help! Getting general failure on 3 printers in Red Hat Ent 4 What to do?
All of a sudden 3 printers are showing a general failure and print jobs are stacking up for those printers. I've stopped and restarted CUPS but that didn't help. What do I look for?
Nothing in the CUPS log, I suppose. Usually isn't, but its worth checking.
How are the printers connected (ethernet/usb/parallel)? Could someone have done something seriously daft like pulling a cable out? Has anything else happened at around the same time (like having electrical contractors in doing unrelated work)?
OK Thanks, all. I didn't find anything in the logs but I just issued the /usr/bin/enable printer name and all the jobs printed and everything is just fine now. I have no idea what caused it????
