Help, Firefox is going painfully slow.

Hi, i am using Ubuntu Dapper Drake and i have installed the latest stable update for firefox (1.5.0.7) and some of my favorite extension but ever since i stared using it goes really slow. It's not only slow when it loads the bigest problem is when i am opening multiple tabs. The more open the slower it gets. For example if i have 7 tabs open, in order to go from one tab to an other it takes 5-6 seconds, sometimes times litle faster sometimes slower. I have installed firefox extension but it doesen't seem to help at all. What should i do? Any help? Here is my memory condition if that helps:
