help: enable CONFIG_DEVFS


hi,all.
i'm newbie in linux.my os is RH9.0, installed from CD. It doesnot support
devfs now.So how can i config my system to make it support devfs?

What doesn't work without devfs?

i'm trying to write a driver,and i called devfs_register function in my code, and the function returns NULL without any warnings. it seems that my OS installed doesnot support devfs,or that it hasnot been enabled.right? but i donot know how to make my os devfs enabled. so i ask for help.
